EVER SINCE, SHE HAS TRAVELED THE WORLD, NEVER STAYING IN ONE PLACE LONG.AT 14, MANA FOUND HERSELF LOST IN THE OUTSKIRTS OF GARLEMALD. DRUSILLA VARUS DISCOVERED HER WANDERING IN THE COLD, AND TOOK HER TO LAPIS MANALIS, INTENDING TO FEED HER AND HELP HER FIND HER WAY OUT OF GARLEMALD. IT WAS DURING MANA’S TIME THERE THAT ORCUS MURDERED DRUSILLA’S FAMILY AND ATE HER VOIDSENT. TRYING TO HELP DRUSILLA, MANA BECAME A REAPER HERSELF, HER VOIDSENT AVATAR TAKING ON A BIRD-LIKE FORM. SHE NAMED HER AVATAR GERO, AND HE BECAME SOMEWHAT OF A PARENT TO HER. SHE WOULD PART WAYS WITH DRUSILLA AFTER RECEIVING AS MUCH GUIDANCE AS THE WOMAN COULD MUSTER. THROUGHOUT MANA’S LIFE, THE TWO RAN INTO EACH OTHER FROM TIME TO TIME AND ARE STILL FRIENDS.IN HER 20S, MANA ATTEMPTED TO SETTLE DOWN WITH A LONGTIME FRIEND OF HERS, LILU MURROMI, WHOM SHE HAD MET AT THE START OF HER JOURNEY IN LIMSA. THE TWO WOUND UP TAKING IN THE CHILD OF TWO DECEASED FRIENDS OF THEIRS, AN INFANT ELEZEN GIRL THEY NAMED PENI PENI. THEIR RELATIONSHIP ENDED IN DIVORCE, AFTER WHICH MANA TOOK UP ADVENTURING AGAIN. HER FIRST STOP WOULD BE UL’DAH, TO CHECK UP ON DRUSILLA.MOST OF THE MSQ PLAYS OUT AS NORMAL FROM HERE WITH A FEW MINOR CHANGES HERE AND THERE. MOST OF THESE OCCUR DURING STORMBLOOD WITH THE DISCOVERY THAT ROKA IS ALIVE AND WELL WORKING FOR THE IMPERIAL ARMY, HOWEVER I HAVE NOT REPLAYED STORMBLOOD WITH THIS PLOT IN MIND, SO I WILL UPDATE THIS SECTION AFTER I DO WITH A MORE SPECIFIC ACCOUNT OF WHAT HAPPENS THERE.DURING THE LEAD-UP TO SHADOWBRINGERS, ROKA, LILU, AND PENI ARE TAKEN TO THE FIRST. SHE WAS READY TO RETIRE, BELIEVING HERSELF UNFIT FOR COMBAT WITHOUT GERO BY HER SIDE. AFTER WEEKS OF VARIOUS ATTEMPTS BY HER FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO PULL HER OUT OF THIS MINDSET, THANCRED GOT HER TO AGREE TO LEARN THE SKILLS OF A GUNBREAKER FROM HIM. THIS WORKED, FINALLY SNAPPING HER OUT OF HER DEPRESSION AFTER SHE REALIZED SHE WAS ACTUALLY MORE THAN CAPABLE ON HER OWN. Roka Roka hails from the Naro tribe of the Azim Steppe, a tribe which now only has two remaining members: Roka and her twin sister Mana Mana. Their older brother, Kabu Kabu, had taken them to Doma after their tribe was defeated by another. He had intended to meet some friends there and start a new life. However, it was not long after they arrived that Garlemald invaded. During the invasion, Kabu died, and the two sisters disagreed on their next steps. Mana wished to flee, while Roka wished to stay and surrender. The two fought until Mana decided she had had enough and left her sister. In the days following the invasion, Roka would be taken in and adopted by a Garlean military family. She would grow up to join the Imperial army herself, eventually taking on the title Roka rem Naevius.Roka and Yotsuyu worked closely during her time as a commander, and Roka developed a pretty unhealthy obsession with Yotsuyu. She would do anything for her, and Yotsuyu used this to her advantage constantly. Roka had always thought of defecting, but she couldn’t bear to be without Yotsuyu. She frequently made plans to leave and begged Yotsuyu to come with her, but she would never agree. Roka was present when Doma Castle crashed down above Yotsuyu, but had managed to escape, albeit injured. She spent many days in denial that Yotsuyu had died, searching everywhere for her. Roka did eventually find her, just after Yotsuyu had killed her parents. Roka once again begged her to run away with her, yet again to no avail.After Yotsuyu died, Roka left for the Azim Steppe, trying to learn more about what her sister had been up to while they were apart. While spending time with the Mol, Roka passed out, and her soul was taken to the First. She had no interest in the Exarch’s troubles, or anything to do with Thancred, who had arrived at the same time as her. She and Thancred agreed to a truce, considering neither of them were familiar with this world at all. After getting her bearings, she left to travel alone and find something to do with her time.A few years later, she would find herself ambushed by a group of Sin Eaters. She was prepared to give up and die, seeing no way out of this world and having no interest in saving it, but in the nick of time, Thancred and the young Minfilia came to her rescue. This snowballed into her reluctantly joining them on their journey. A few months before Mana arrived on the First, Roka began passing out, as her body wasn’t with everyone else’s in the Rising Stones. They decided to leave her in the care of Y’shtola and the Night’s Blessed, as she wasn’t fit to travel in that state.Need to flesh her out more past this. The only other thing I have is that she would go to Doma after returning from the First to try to atone for what she did for the empire.
